2D cutting/milling

2.5D strategies are used for machining of parts composed of pockets, islands, slots, vertical sides, flat faces and holes. Typically these would be electronic component housings, stamps and dies. SprutCAM creates both roughing and finishing tool paths.SprutCAM includes powerful automatic geometry recognition. All types of hole machining operations are supported.

Standard operations of this type of machining:

  • Horizontal area machining with automatic detection of horizontal faces
  • Vertical wall machining (including the use of a spiral path)
